Philosophy
First Presbyterian Preschool is an educational outreach of First Presbyterian Church.  We believe that each child is a unique creation of a loving God.  Our primary objective is to offer children the freedom to grow, to learn, and to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically in ways which will enable them to grow into more mature person.

Realizing that family is the first and most significant arena for education, our preschool experience is intended to be a resource for, and an extension of, this primary relationship.

We offer a specifically "Christian" education, with a non-denominational approach.  It is our intention to nurture children in growth, and to guide them as they become more independent learners.

The experience of each child's school day are under the guidance of dedicated and committed teachers, who seek to mediate the love of God for each child through personal, caring relationships.

Children will be challenged to explore the academic basics suitable to their particular age level; to discover their own unique personality, talents, and strengths; to experience the balance between freedom and responsibility through living in the microcosm of the preschool community; to develop health, growth, and preparation for entry into elementary school education.

We encourage discussion and open sharing of information in regard to the operation of the school so that the school and parents will develop a partnership in the task of enabling our children to achieve significant growth in all areas of their lives.

First Presbyterian Preschool is open to all children without regard to race, sex, creed, or ethnic origin.
